China and Sri Lanka have signed a series of deals. This came on Tuesday, the second day of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse's visit to Beijing to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
The agreements cover the economy, investment, movies, agriculture and corneas donations. They were signed after an hour of talks between President Hu Jintao and Mahinda Rajapakse.
Hu Jintao said China and Sri Lanka have had high-level exchanges and trade was growing.
He thanked Sri Lanka for its adherence to the one-China policy and said China supports the efforts Sri Lanka has made to safeguard its sovereignty, national unity and territorial integrity.
Hu said the two countries should work closely to complete large joint projects, and projects funded by China.
He called for greater bilateral cooperation in trade, culture, infrastructure, counter-terrorism and international affairs.
Rajapakse arrived here on Monday, at the start of a seven-day state visit.
He presented two corneas, a replica Buddha statue and a five-year-old elephant as gifts to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties.
