Demonstrations are continuing in Nepal, after the Unified Communist Party of Nepal - Maoist, failed to come to an agreement with other parties on the formation of a new coalition government.

The crisis was sparked when Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Prachanda attempted to fire the country's army chief Rookmangud Katawal. But his decision had been overruled by the president.

Prachanda accused the army chief of reneging on an agreement to integrate the former rebels into the army.
