US supports Russia sending uranium

US President George W. Bush says he supports Russia sending enriched uranium to Iran for civilian power use because it means Tehran will not need to pursue its own enrichment capabilities.

Bush says Iran is a danger so long as it pursues a nuclear program that could lead to the development of weapons.

Tehran insists its program is for peaceful energy purposes only.

The US is seeking another round of UN sanctions against Iran. Bush claims the country owes an explanation to the world.
