Russia and Iran strengthen cooperation

Trade between Russia and Iran almost doubled in the first nine months of the year according to the Rosatom agency for nuclear power.

Agency chief Sergei Kiriyenko made the comment at a Russian-Iranian intergovernmental economic cooperation commission meeting in Moscow.

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, who is visiting Russia, has praised the co-operation between the two countries.

He says bilateral trade during that period is worth 2.2 billion US dollars. The two nations have signed cooperation documents in the fields of trade and science.
