Iran vows cooperation with GCC

Iran's President says Gulf states should work towards establishing regional security and economic pacts free from "foreign influence".
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was speaking at the Gulf Cooperation Council summit in Qatar's capital, Doha.
This is the first time an Iranian leader has attended the summit.
The president invited Gulf leaders to Tehran to discuss his proposal.
He is also looking for their joint cooperation in the nuclear field including training for Gulf scientists in Iran.

The six-member GCC include Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Arab League Secretary General Amr Moussa also took part in the two-day conference.
