The political unrest in Pakistan has made world headlines since its president Pervez Musharraf imposed emergency rule on November the third. We now take a brief look at the latest events there.
Pakistani authorities have lifted the house arrest imposed on former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
The house arrest was to prevent Bhutto from leading a rally against President Musharraf's emergency rule.
Local media say the government made the decision ahead of a visit by US Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte to urge the country to lift the emergency rule.
