Former Pakistani Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto has praised Musharraf's announcement.
She made the comments at a news conference in Lahore on Sunday ahead of a mass protest she is planning this week against Musharraf's emergency rule.
Benazir Bhutto, Former Pakistani PM, said, "The announcement that the elections will be held according to the schedule given to us by January 9th is a positive step to diffuse the situation."
