The Taliban has killed a second South Korean hostage. Song Kin-Shi, was shot dead at around 8:30 p.m. local time on Monday. His body was dumped near the Ghazni-Kandahar highway.
Al Jazeera broadcast a video on Monday showing several South Korean hostages held by Taliban insurgents hours after the group announced the killing.
Earlier, a Taliban spokesman said they had shot dead a male South Korean hostage. They are accusing the Afghan government of not listening to their demands to release Taliban prisoners.
The Taliban seized 23 Korean Christians, 11 days ago from a bus in Ghazni on the main highway south of Kabul. They killed the leader of the group on Wednesday after an earlier deadline passed.
The spokesman says the Taliban will kill more hostages if Kabul ignores their demand to release rebel prisoners. No new deadline has been set.
The shooting was a rejection of authorities' request for two more days for talks on freeing the hostages after the deadline passed on Monday.
