In South Korea, candlelight vigils continue for the hostages and in remembrance for one of their group who has already been killed. To ease the mounting tension, the Foreign Ministry says it's trying its best to win the swift and safe return of the remaining kidnap victims.
Candlelight and banners demand the "safe return" and "troop withdrawal".
All the vigils continue for the 23 South Korean hostages. Now only 22 of them remain alive.
On Wednesday, the Taliban killed a 42-year-old pastor, the leader of the South Korean team of Christian volunteers.
