U.S. allows Haitians to stay and work

The U.S. has allowed up to 200-thousand Haitians in America to stay and work for up to 18 months to aid in their country's recovery.

Applications for temporary residency were accepted as of Thursday, and will continue for 180 days.

Applicants must prove their Haitian citizenship as well as their residence in the United States before the earthquake struck.
