Special Report: Strong Quake Hits Haiti |
The Haitian government said on Wednesday that the latest death toll from the quake has risen to 75 thousand. And more than 250 thousand people were injured.
On the same day, a strong aftershock struck Haiti, sending scores of people fleeing through the country's streets.
Many people still on edge from last week's quake didn't want to be caught under any crumbling buildings. The U.S. Geological Survey says the epicenter of the magnitude 5.9 aftershock was 56 kilometers northwest of the capital of Port-au-Prince.
There was no immediate reports of damage. Seeking refuge and fearing new damage from aftershocks, thousands of people have been sleeping in the streets of the Haitian capital.
