Afghan suicide blast kills 8 US civilians

A suicide bomber has killed eight American civilians in an attack at a military base in southeastern Afghanistan.

Wednesday's explosion was at a base in Khost province, near the border with Pakistan. It marks one of the highest, foreign civilian death tolls in an insurgent strike in the eight-year war.

The US State Department, says they are withholding further details of the casualties pending notification of the next of kin.
