Afghan and NATO-led multinational troops have killed six Taliban militants in Afghanistan's southern province of Ghazni. The security forces also discovered, and defused, six mines elsewhere in the nation over the past 24 hours, thus foiling potential terrorist attacks.
However, five Taliban militants armed with guns and suicide vests assaulted a building in the country's east early Monday. The act sparked a clash with local police that left at least three of the extremists dead.
