The U.N. Stabilization Mission in Haiti has paid tribute to the memory and service of its colleagues who lost their lives in the devastating earthquake.

Around 200 people attended Thursday's gathering. UN Special Representative, Edmond Mulet, said the organization has lost many dear colleagues and friends.

Mulet also expressed sadness at the loss of leaders Hedi Annabi and Luis Carlos da Costa. As of Wednesday, the UN had confirmed 83 deaths and said 32 staff were still unaccounted for.

There were almost 2,000 civilian and around 7,500 military and police working under the organization in Haiti.
