Special Report: Li visits Switzerland, attending Davos meeting |
Former US President Bill Clinton, has called on private industries to make long-term commitments to rebuild quake-ravaged Haiti.
Clinton, acting as the UN special envoy to Haiti, made the remarks at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
He said out of the tragedy of the quake came the opportunity for the Haitian people "to build the country that they want, instead of rebuilding what it used to be."
Clinton said once the initial relief process proceeds smoothly, the right structure and support will be in place to rebuild the shattered country.
