President Hu meets Malaysian PM to discuss development of strategic cooperation

President Hu Jintao and Malaysian Prime Minister, Najib Tun Razak, have met to discuss furthering bilateral relations. Hu Jintao said China-Malaysia relations have developed smoothly since the two countries established diplomatic relations 35 years ago, with fruitful cooperation in various fields.

He noted that Malaysia has become China's largest trading partner among ASEAN members. Hu Jintao suggested that the two countries deepen cooperation in various fields, including economics, trade, regional defense, education and tourism.

For his part, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, said he fully agrees with President Hu's suggestions in pushing forward cooperation. He said Malaysia is willing to work with China to further develop strategic and cooperative relations. The meeting also produced the signing of a number of cooperation deals between the two countries.
