President Hu Jintao begins state visit to Malaysia and Singapore

President Hu Jintao left Beijing Tuesday for state visits to Malaysia and Singapore. He will attend the 17th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation economic leaders' meeting on Saturday and Sunday in Singapore.

During the summit, Hu Jintao will set out China's position on the measures being taken against the international financial crisis, the prospects for global economic recovery, the challenges posed by climate change, food and energy security, and APEC's future development.
