The core values and contents of the Belt and Road Initiative can be summed up in a set of various key points and themes.
General visions include building common interests, destiny and responsibility. Building on this, there are five central tenants that underline the project.
These include: communication on policy levels, infrastructure connectivity, smooth and efficient trade, sound financing, and people-to-people exchanges.
Communication on policy levels is integral, as each country consists of unique policies and standards. Infrastructure connectivity is equally fundamental, as member countries span across Asia, Europe and Africa.
Developing transportation networks can dramatically reduce the time and cost of conducting business.
Meanwhile enhancing cooperation in terms of customs and information exchange can further facilitate trade. Strong financing mechanisms are important for investments and projects, which could well cost as much as several trillion US dollars - a huge burden.
Therefore making use of the Silk Road Fund in collaboration with both domestic and foreign institutions will pave the way for effective financing.
And finally, people-to-people exchanges. The aim of the Initiative is to bring benefits to people from all member countries. With the support of the general public, achieving these visions and goals can be accelerated.
