Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is on an official visit to New Zealand, where he has hailed the rapid development of China-New Zealand ties following the establishment of diplomatic relations 45 years ago.
Wang said the bilateral ties serve as a role model for other countries of different social systems and sizes. The Foreign Minister added that China welcomes New Zealand to join "Belt and Road" initiative and strengthen cooperation in fields like technology, innovation, agriculture, and biological medicine.
Wang also proposed that the two sides begin talks to upgrade their free trade deal.
