China and New Zealand have signed a cooperation agreement on the Belt and Road initiative. This makes New Zealand the first country to sign such an agreement among Western developed countries. So far over 50 countries have signed agreements on the initiative. The signing came after Chinese Premier Li Keqiang arrived in New Zealand Sunday for bilateral high-level talks as both countries push to expand global free trade.
