At least 22 civilians, including 10 children, have been killed in air strikes carried out by unidentified aircraft on a village held by ISIL militants in eastern Syria. The Syrian Observatory for Human rights said the civilians were from two families in Hojna. The village is located in the oil-rich province of Deir Ezzor.
The region is mostly under ISIL control and has been regularly targeted by the US-led military coalition. The only part of the eastern province not under militant control is the regional capital - also called Deir Ezzor - which is held by forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad.
