Several Syrian political opposition groups have announced that they will form a new organization called 'The Syrian Democratic Front' in Damascus.

They've issued a statement saying the organization will attend peace talks in the Kazakh capital of Astana or the Swiss city of Geneva as the representative of the Syrian political opposition.

The Front calls on the country to step up its anti-terror efforts and hopes that the domestic crisis will be solved through political means. Domestic political opposition in Syria constitutes another force in the country's peace talks besides domestic armed and foreign opposition. But without support from foreign powers, it has very limited influence.
