Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the US-led coalition is breaking its promises in Syria. He accuses Washington of backing 'terror groups,' including ISIL. He says Turkey has the evidence to prove its claim.

Erdogan said, "What were the coalition forces saying in the beginning? They were saying: 'We will fight against the terrorist organisation Daesh (Islamic State) until the end.' In fact, they were accusing us of supporting Daesh. Now they've all disappeared."

"On the contrary, they give support to terrorist groups including Daesh, YPG, PYD. It's very clear. We have confirmed evidence, with pictures, photos and videos."

The US State Department on Tuesday rejected the accusations as "ludicrous". Spokesman Mark Toner says the claim is baseless. Erdogan has made the same accusation in the past. On a visit to Pakistan in November, Erdogan said the "West stands by Daesh," or ISIL. The Turkish president says the terrorist group's weapons are western-made.
