Chinese Super League, where SIPG have completed a long-rumoured deal to acquire the services of Chelsea midfielder Oscar. The move will become official when the next transfer window opens at the start of the new year, and reportedly costs the Shanghai-based club 60-million pounds.

The team's fans are excited, and with the news coming so close to Christmas, most supporters went online to claim it is the best present they could receive.

SIPG posted a photo online of Oscar holding his new jersey in front of a Christmas tree, to confirm the Blues man's transition to the CSL side.

Oscar joined Chelsea from Internacional in the summer of 2012. In four years at Stamford Bridge, the 25-year-old made 203 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals and winning the Premier League, the Europa League, and the League Cup.

The attacking midfielder will be following a growing number of Brazilians in the CSL, and at his new club. Other notable players from his country playing for SIPG are forwards Elkeson and Hulk.

The new signing will also make Oscar the highest paid footballer in the world.

He will get paid 400-thousand pounds a week. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi only make 365-grand every seven days. Gareth Bale earns 346,000. And Hulk gets more than 300-thousand.

Oscar may not be the highest paid player for long -- as the CSL's other Shanghai team, Shenhua, are willing to dole out some big cash for Carlos Tevez. Reports claim the club, is expected to pay him 615-thousand pounds a week for his services.

And that triggered Barcelona defender Javier Mascherano to share his thoughts on the option of playing in China.

"Chinese football has grown drastically in the last year, signing notable players. Maybe this tendency will keep going, we have to see. There are personal and professional decisions for each player. But what is clear is that is an option that, two or three years ago was not a consideration, now it is," said Javier Mascherano, Barcelona defender.
