The Chinese Super League is also showing that it can attract high profile players. Brazilian Hulk signed with SIPG in June for a record 56 million euros, but he will now be outdone by his compatriot Oscar.
English publication the Daily Mail reports that the Chelsea midfielder will join the Shanghai club for an astonishing 60 million euros next month.
Oscar will become the most expensive signing by a CSL club, teaming up with his former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas as clubs in the Far East continue to splash cash.
Oscar has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge. He’s played in 11 matches this season but has not started in the Premier League for the leaders since mid-September.
The 25-year-old joined Chelsea from Internacional for 25 million pounds in the summer of 2012 and has made 203 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 38 goals and helping the club to win the Europa League, the Premier League title and the League Cup.
