Around 500 people have been evacuated from eastern Aleppo and brought to al-Rashideen in the Aleppo governorate. New arrivals received food rations and winter clothes before moving to temporary camps. A UN official in Syria confirmed the evacuation of the rebel-held enclave of east Aleppo resumed after three days of delays.
The official had no immediate information about a planned simultaneous operation to evacuate people from two Shi'ite villages near Idlib that are besieged by mostly Sunni rebel forces.
