The Syrian army continues to gain more ground in parts of Aleppo previously held by rebels. And government troops suspended fighting on Thursday to allow civilians to leave the city.

This is one of the several crossings that the civilians are using to leave eastern Aleppo. You can see behind me the civilians have just been evacuated. The situation in Aleppo is developing very quickly.

The Syrian army seems to be confident to retake the city with weeks. There are reports that there're ongoing negotiations between the government and rebels. But senior commander told CCTV that only way for rebels to leave is by the terms of the Syrian government.

Ten of thousands civilians are still being trapped. Some rebel fractions prevented them from leaving.
