Syrian government army and allies pushed into rebel-held parts of Aleppo's Old City on Tuesday, making their biggest advance in the five-year-long civil war.
Lebanese TV reports that rebels were withdrawing from the area, though a rebel official said they would never abandon Aleppo.
The Syrian Foreign Ministry said it now wouldn't accept a truce by any party in Aleppo, unless the opposition leave the city. The rebels have lost around two-thirds of their territory in the city over the past two weeks.
