As we heard, President Xi called for a more open and integrated global economy, despite some recent developments which have compromised this.

He warned against protectionism, and called on his fellow APEC economies to promote more connectivity, inclusiveness, reform and innovation. He also endorsed the early establishment of the Free Trade Area in the Asia-Pacific region, so as to bring regional economic relations to a new level.
