President Xi said the central government acknowledges the work the chief executive and the Hong Kong SAR government have done. His comments came after hearing a report by Leung on the recent situation in Hong Kong.

The president asked Leung to lead the Hong Kong government and focus on boosting economic development and improving people's well-being. He also urged the Hong Kong government to resolutely safeguard national unity and maintain social and political stability.
