President Xi Jinping has met with several world leaders on the sidelines of the APEC meetings, and a wide range of topics have been discussed. This is his 9th meeting with US president Barack Obama in three years. President Xi stressed that a healthy and stable relationship is not only important for both countries, but also for the international community.

When meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Xi called for more efforts to integrate the Belt & Road initiative into the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union. The Chinese president also met his counterparts from Vietnam and the Philippines and Colombia.
