South Korea's parliament has approved a bill to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate the corruption scandal involving President Park and her long-time confidant Choi Soon-sil. Prosecutors say they need to question Park by Friday at the latest. Park's lawyer says the president is willing to "cooperate" in the investigation but says she needs more time.
