Yonhap News Agency reports South Korean President Park Geun-hye has hired a lawyer ahead of questioning by prosecutors. Park is under investigation for allegations she exerted improper pressure on "chaebol" conglomerate bosses to support foundations run by a close friend, Choi Soon-sil. Choi is also accused of using her ties to the president to meddle in state affairs and wield influence. Park will be the first sitting president to undergo questioning as part of a criminal investigation.
