Resentment over a major political scandal continues to rage on in South Korea. The president's office said on Wednesday that President Park Geun-hye will appoint a prime minister as soon as she gets a nomination from the country's legislature. Park urged the legislature to give her a name as soon as possible.
A spokesperson said Park will give the new prime minister the power of nominating cabinet members and removing them from positions.
One week earlier, the president proposed an official that once worked under former President Roh Moo-Hyun be the new prime minister. But that proposal was met with strong objections from the opposition party.
