Hong Kong's chief executive Leung Chun-ying says he and his government support the NPC's interpretation of Article 104, and will fully implement it.
Leung said, "The interpretation has clarified that any oath taken in a manner that is not sincere or solemn is considered a decline to take the oath. And that oath taken is rendered invalid. As such, the person taking the oath is regarded as having forthwith lost his or her qualification for the corresponding office."
"I and the SAR government support the interpretation passed by the NPCSC today. I and the SAR government will implement the interpretation fully."
