The two-day Cross-Strait Peaceful Development Forum has concluded this morning, and the visiting leader of Taiwan’s Kuomintang Party, Hung Hsiu-chu, was there. She will wrap up her 5-day visit to the Chinese Mainland today.
Hung began her trip by visiting Nanjing, capital of eastern China’s Jiangsu province, and paid her respects to KMT founder Sun Yat-sen at his mausoleum. On Tuesday, Hung and her delegation visited a center for Taiwan start-ups after arriving in Beijing.
Later that day, Xi Jinping, in his capacity as General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, met with Hung. They discussed issues related to 1992 Consensus, which holds to the “One-China” principle and bilateral cooperation.
