The leader of Taiwan's Kuomintang Party, Hung Hsiu-chu, has arrived in Beijing. Hung was received by Zhang Zhijun, head of the Taiwan Work Office of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

Hung will meet with the General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping, during her stay in Beijing. She will also attend the Cross-Strait Peace Forum scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday.
Hung and her delegation arrived in Nanjing on Sunday evening, the first stop of a five-day visit to the Mainland. She paid her respects to KMT founder Sun Yat-sen at his mausoleum. This is Hung's first visit to the Mainland since she became the head of the KMT in March.
