In the sunny south of China for golf, the World Celebrity Pro-Am is at the Mission Hills course in Hainan. Chinese pro Li Haotong would delight the local fans by holding off a few major champions on Sunday, to claim one of the biggest cheques of his career.
The 21-year-old Li, who won the European Tour's Volvo China Open earlier this year, birdies the final hole of the par-72 Blackstone Course in Haikou to shoot consecutive 69s, and finish with 78 Stableford points.
That total put him one point ahead of the 2009 Women's PGA Champion, Anna Nordqvist of Sweden.
Icons from the world of sport playing at the event included three-time Wimbledon champion Boris Becker, and basketball Hall of Famers Allen Iverson and Yao Ming.
A total of nine professional golfers were competing over two rounds of individual Stableford scoring, for the one million US-dollar overall purse. Li picked up the winner's prize of 250,000 dollars.
