The Chinese Foreign Ministry has called for restraint on all sides to avoid making tensions worse.

"I have also noted the reports. As for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea using directed missile technology for its launch, as we have said before, the UN Security Council resolution has clear rules. We hope that under the current circumstances, all sides concerned show restraint and avoid actions that would heighten regional tensions," said spokesperson Hua Chunying.
