On the sidelines of the summit, Chinese President Xi Jinping has met with his counterpart from South Africa Jacob Zuma.

President Xi said the two countries have been enriching the comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields, and that China hopes to further collaboration to benefit both countries.

He added that practical results need to be seen in areas like rail transportation, science and technology parks, vocational training, and regional collaboration.

President Zuma said the G20 summit in Hangzhou saw fruitful results and strengthened the ties between G20 members and developing countries. He hoped partnership could be further improved between China and South Africa, as well as with the African continent.
