Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Indian state of Goa for this year's BRICS Summit. The President's visit is expected to bring confidence and vitality to partnership within the bloc of emerging economies, and enable it to contribute more to global growth.
The BRICS is an association of five major emerging economies, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The theme of this year's summit is: "Building Responsive, Inclusive and Collective Solutions".
The BRICS mechanism has become an effective cooperation platform for the quintet, and they have been praised and recognized for their growth and development.
Over the past 10 years, they have accounted for about half of the world's GDP growth, with China accounting for about 40 percent of that.
