Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka for a state visit. This is the first visit by a Chinese head of state to Bangladesh in 30 years.
President Xi's two-day visit will serve to deepen strategic cooperation and step up regional connectivity under China's Belt and Road Initiative. He is scheduled to meet with President Abdul Hamid and National Assembly Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.
He will also hold talks with the country's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, with a series of bilateral deals to be signed. Bangladesh is the second leg of President Xi's tour as he has concluded his state visit to Cambodia.
