Non-governmental organizations have contributed to a robust relationship between China and Cambodia.

Established in 2000, the Cambodia-China Friendship Association promotes exchanges in many fields among NGOs between the two countries. Its president says the two countries share a valuable friendship amid a changing international environment, and the two countries support, understand and respect each other.

"Both leaders share common ground - the love of peace and the commitment to protect it. We obey the peaceful co-existence principles to protect each other's interests, without intervening domestic politics. As far as I know, a series of cooperation documents will be signed during President Xi's visit. We appreciate that the Chinese government is promoting investment in Cambodia," said Ek Sam Ol, president of Cambodia-China Friendship Association.
