So as mentioned China would top the Parlympic medal table, garnering 107 golds. They are just the third country to break the century mark since 1984, when the U-S and Great Britain both did it. Coincidentally, that was also the first year China took part in the Paralympics.
The PRC sent the largest ever delegation to a Games, not on home soil. Overall, they won 107 gold, 81 silver and 51 bronze medals -- good for an overall total of 239 medals. Chinese paralympiand also broke 51 world records, the best for any country at the Paralympics.
China has seen steady improvement at the Games, and after their performance in Rio, the country has managed to win more than 400 gold medals in its history, and managed to win more than one-thousand medals overall since it started competing at the multi-sport event.
The Paralympics stage has also shown the development of sports for Chinese athletes with disabilities, while also allowing the public to see that despite their physical limitations Paralympics are an important part of society.
