China achieved its aim set before the Rio Paralympics to finish on top of the medal standings, just as they did at the previous three Games in Athens, Beijing and London.

But nobody could have imagined the success the 308-strong Chinese delegation would achieve in Brazil as they became only the third country to win 100 gold medals in a single edition of the Games.

China claimed two marathon victories on Sunday's last day. Li Chaoyan wins the men's marathon T46 in two hours, 33 minutes and 35 seconds. Spain's Abderrahman Ait Khamouch grabs silver.

ZHOU LIHONG TOPS WOMEN'S T54 MARATHON

Zhou Lihong was awarded the women's T54 marathon gold after a photo finish with American Tatyana McFadden. Both athletes cross the line in one hour, 38 minutes and 44 seconds and it's only after scrutiny of video replays that Zhou is declared the winner.

IRAN WIN MEN'S SITTING VOLLEYBALL

Iran would claim the men's sitting volleyball gold after beating Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-1 in the final. Iran won the first, third and fourth sets of the game while Bosnia took the second. Iran is now the most decorated team in sitting volleyball at the Paralympics after finishing six editions of the Games with gold medals.

China finish on top of the medal table with 107 golds, 81 silver, and 51 bronze for 239 total medals in the country's best result ever at the Paralympics. Great Britain are second with 64 and 147 overall, followed by Ukraine, USA, and Australia.
