An explosion has rocked the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan, New York. Twenty-five civilians have been injured. The New York City fire department says none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening.

Unconfirmed reports say the blast went off in a dumpster. It occurred at about 8:30 p.m. local time Saturday. The cause of the explosion is unclear. Hours before, a pipe bomb went off in New Jersey, forcing the cancellation of a Marine Corps charity run.
