Full coverage: Chinese Premier Visits Laos, Attends East Asia Summit
Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has said that practical cooperation between ASEAN members and China, Japan AND South Korea, should be steadily promoted.
Li made the remarks in Vientiane, capital of Laos while attending the 19th summit of ASEAN-Plus-3 countries. He emphasized that practical cooperation can safeguard regional peace and stability. ASEAN leaders as well as the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and South Korean President Park Geun-hye, attended the meeting.
Li made a six-point proposal on developing regional integration, which included strengthening financial security, deepening trade and investment cooperation, AND promoting cooperation in agriculture and poverty reduction.
As for financial security cooperation, Li said that countries should learn a lesson from economic crisis in order to maintain financial stability. As for regional peace and stability, the Premier called for nations to join efforts in facing adversity and fighting terrorism.
