In recent years China has reached great achievements in science as the nation bolsters its economy and focuses more on scientific innovation. The quantum satellite is a product of this innovation.

"I'm really happy that China is investing so much into science. And the investments started at a very early stage of economic development. And now China is becoming a very important player in the field of science. To be honest, China is returning to its old place in the history of the global influence, superpower 2,000 years ago. And it's becoming superpower nowadays, and also superpower in science. This rapid development is really, really fantastic, and one of the fruits is this experiment," Marek Zukowski, head of Institute of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics, University of Gdansk, said.
