China's Commerce Ministry says innovation has become a main growth driver for trade, as exports of high value added goods continued to grow in the first seven months.
Exports of large equipment rose 3 percent from January to July. Cross-border e-commerce, and trade related services also have been rising fast despite downward pressure on the economy. Analysts say innovation has lifted the standing of Chinese products.
"When we look at the transfer of trade's growth drivers, innovation has become one of the most important propellers for trade," said Wang Dongtang, deputy director, Trade Dep't, MOFCOM.
"In a survey done by the Commerce Ministry in the first half of the year, a large number of companies enhanced their competitiveness through innovation. They've become better in withstanding global risks, and stronger in international pricing power. Some firms have maintained double-digit-growth rates."
