Turkey's Prime Minister Binali Yildirm says Ankara can not compromise with the United States over its request for the extradition of Islamic cleric Fethullah Gulen. He is being blamed for orchestrating last month's military coup attempt.
Since the failed coup, Turkey immediately increased pressure for Gulen's extradition from the United States. On Saturday, Ankara sent a letter to US authorities asking for the detention of Gulen.
In the letter, the Turkish government cited Gulen as the mastermind of the coup and accused him of ten different charges, including attempting to overthrow the government.
